What are WHOIS and RDAP?

WHOIS and RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) are services that provide registration details for domain names or IP addresses. WHOIS is the traditional system, showing information such as the domain owner, contact details, DNS servers, status, and expiration date. RDAP, designed as the modern replacement, delivers the same data in a structured (JSON) format, offering better interoperability and stronger compliance with data protection standards like GDPR.
Depending on the registry, the information may be available through WHOIS, RDAP, or both.

Protect your personal data

When you Register a domain name, your personal information is listed in the Whois and may be manipulated by data miners. You can therefore be the target of junk emails, identity theft, prank telephone calls, postal messages, etc. By using our ID Protect service, you immediately put a stop to such abuse.
